About Khatu Shyamji
Shyam Baba, also known as Khatu Shyam Ji, is worshipped as an incarnation of Barbarik, the brave son of Ghatotkach and grandson of Bhima from the Mahabharata. Blessed with three infallible arrows, Barbarik vowed to support the weaker side in the epic war, but Lord Krishna, foreseeing catastrophic consequences, requested his head as a sacrifice. Barbarik humbly offered his head, and Krishna blessed him to be worshipped in Kali Yuga as Shyam Baba, promising that sincere devotees’ wishes would be fulfilled. The revered Khatu Shyam Temple is located in Khatu village, Sikar district, Rajasthan, and can be easily reached from Jaipur or Ringas Junction by road or train. Every year, millions visit the temple, drawn by their faith in Shyam Baba’s compassion and power.
